Yellowstone Park, Wyoming, Montana and Idaho
Western exploration of the region began during the late 1860s aided by the US army at the time. Yellowstone was recognised in 1872 as a national park, which was also the first national park in the World. With its mass located across the three U.S. states of Wyoming, Montana and Idaho, Yellowstone is best known for wildlife and its geothermal features, most notably “Old Faithful Geyser”. Native Americans lived in the Yellowstone region for at over 11,000 years.

Yellowstone National Park spans an area of 3,468 square miles comprising of many beautiful lakes, deep winding canyons, rapid rivers and grand mountains. Many species of mammals, birds, fish and reptiles have been found here including some endangered species. Yellowstone Lake is also located above the largest supervolcano on the continent making for such great landscape sights. Half of the world’s geothermal features are in Yellowstone because of this. Yellowstone offers its visitors hiking, camping, boating, fishing and sightseeing.
