The falls are in the Canaima National Park in the Gran Sabana region in southeastern Venezuela, bordering with Brazil and Guyana. However, at the end of 2009 Venezuela officially named the Falls Kerepakupai Meru. The waterfall is among Venezuela’s most famous destinations for tourists. It is also the world’s tallest waterfall with a drop of 2,648ft. Kerepakupai Meru plunges from one of the tabletop mountains, Auyan-Tepui, in a forest landscape of the Canaima National Park in southern Venezuela.

About 15,000 Pemon Indians live in the region surrounding the Falls, and the remote falls are normally only ever reached by plane and boat making for lower tourist numbers visiting this beautiful site. Due to the size of the falls and the remoteness of them, you’re better off viewing the falls this way.
